Location
Moora is located on the Midlands Highway between the Great Northern Highway and the Brand Highway.

The climate is Mediterranean, featuring mild winters that yield most of the year's rain. Moora’s average annual rainfall of more than 500 millimetres over 90 days each year has earned it the enviable reputation as the State's most reliable pastoral and farming district. It has never been declared a drought zone, even during the prolonged nationwide drought at the beginning of the 1990's. Summers here are warm to hot, with daytime temperatures averaging between 30 to 35 degrees Celsius.

Moora's 5 commercial banks, Senior High School, Pharmacy, Dentist, Doctors, District Hospital, commerce and retail sectors, and community recreational facilities mean it is the largest inland service centre between Perth and Geraldton, providing services to a population catchment of 6,000 residents within a 100 kilometre radius.

Facilities

As smaller facilities, both the residential college and the school are able to provide a close personal touch, with students able to develop strong relationships with both their peers and the staff. The school and residential college have a strong pastoral care program and a close working relationship which ensure that students ‘living in’ receive the same level of support as those living at home. Together, the school and the residential college provide the students with access to a wide range of educational, cultural and recreational opportunities with frequent excursions to Perth and other locations.

Central Midlands Senior High School is seen as a leader with its integrated approach to education. Whether your child aspires to university, TAFE or employment when they leave school, they are catered for with a varied program of both TEE and non-TEE subjects as well as a strong ‘structured work-place’ learning component. For lower school students, strong literacy, extension and outcome based programs are available. By involvement in the State Emergency Cadets, students come to understand that communities are built by everyone, not just a few.
